CLARA & GRANT
Llamas, Lisbon and Love, this is the story of Clara and Grant’s exquisite destination wedding in Portugal.
With 170 family and friends flying in from all over the globe this was a truly international affair and where better for the guests to stay than the XVII century palace, Tivoli Seteais. There are no other words to describe this hotel and the views other than stunning.
Clara and Grant held a rehearsal dinner at Penha Longa within a beautiful monastery surrounded by the hotel’s lush golf grounds.
The wedding was held the next day at São Martinho in Sintra. The couple were granted a truly unique wedding gift from the council. The road within Sintra, which is normally closed to vehicles, was opened to allow the parade of Tuk Tuks to carry guests from Tivoli Seteais to São Martinho. Clara followed the procession in a Cinderella style horse and carriage.
Details of the wedding were planned to incorporate Clara’s Peruvian and Argentinian heritage as well as some local Portuguese culture. Llamas were present at the event to the delight of everyone, guests and staff alike, and Clara’s shoes and her bridesmaid’s dresses were designed after classic blue and white Portuguese tiles.
The wedding speeches produced genuine laughter and later the first dance was elegant and mesmerising. The night was full of dancing, music and happy memories. Each guest was given a miniature llama doll as a souvenir to remember this unique event.
