Today we write about Sammi and Chris wedding, a beautiful couple from the USA that crossed the ocean to get married at Forte da Cruz. A fort from the 17th century located in Estoril, a small town in front of the ocean.

The preparations started early in the heart of Lisbon.

Their wedding happened on a very rainy day, however in Portugal we have  a saying “Casamento molhado, casamento abençoado”, which means “Wet Wedding, Blessed Wedding” – which was, without doubts the case.

The photographers did some magic shooting the bridal party and the couple, downtown Lisbon, when it was pouring.

At the time of the ceremony the sky opened and it was one of the most beautiful and incredible weddings we have seen near the beach!

All the details were planned for months, from the colors of the flowers to the tiles wedding souvenirs – a little bit of Portugal to go home with every single guest.

One of the most special moments of the night was the father and daughter dance, the atmosphere around the marquee totally merged into a bubble of romance and peace.

The party ended with “We are Family” music where everyone gathered on the dance floor and said goodbye to the new couple.

You can for sure say that not even the rain spoiled this very special day.
